'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' requires a 20GB patch to play

343 Industries, the team behind the new 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection,' has said that the game uses all of the space of a Blu-ray disc and will require a massive patch just to be able to play.
On day one, the patch will be over 20GB and be required before you can play the title.

Says 343 Industries Executive Producer Dan Ayoub: "From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection. The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB."

If you want to get ahead of the pack, and you've pre-ordered the game, you can get started on the download.

The game is set for release November 11th in the U.S. and the UK exclusively for the Xbox One.

I dont even own an xbox one yet ...but I am guessing you did not know that if you have the latest updates to your xbox one ...you can plug a external HD in to one of its USB 3.0 ports...

I was going to wait till Next Year for my xbox one but I love Halo ..so I may have to dish out the cash now...

That is a huge patch you think they would include a second disc to install instead of downloading that will take some people ages to download the patch. Halo 2 was my favorite I wonder if online will work for it since I remember they took the servers down for Halo 2 not sure for this collection if they will return the online part.

the main problem is the game won't run on the external hard drive without severe lag have fun had my friends who work for microdork even warn me to wait for the first 2 updates before purchasing these and on another note the 1tb xbox one is due out here shortly so you might just want to wait and upgrade before purchasing or hope they release a limited edition bundle with the collection included

Should've come with a 2tb removable or larger from the outset, the people that make the decisions need a good ol' fashion ass whipp'n
